My parents making applesauce
Fill a 20 quart pot with 12 quarts of sliced apples with skins. Add 2 quarts of water and bring apples to a boil. Strain the apples to separate the skins from the sauce. Heat the sauce to boiling. Add 1/2 to 3/4 cup of sugar to each quart of boiling sauce and stir. Add two teaspoons of cinnamon to the entire pot of sauce. Fill the jar to within 1/2 inch of its top and place a lid heated in boiling water on the jar top and screw the lid on tightly. Place on the table and let it rest until it seals.

Dad pours cooked apples into a strainer.
The last remaining apples with juice are added.
Dad turns the handle of the strainer to separate the cooked apples from the skins.
The skins are tossed away.
This is the strained sauce before the ingredients are added.
The sauce is brought to a boil.
Sugar is added to the sauce.
Cinnamon is added to the sauce.
The hot, sweet sauce is poured into the jars.
The lids and rings are placed on the jars of hot sauce.
The jars are tightened by a big and strong Dad.
The jars seal while cooling. They are packaged for storage and gifts.
Mother cleans the kitchen and washes the pans and utensils.
